Creating custom chainstitch work is a detailed, hands-on process that requires open communication and collaboration between myself and the client. Not every concept translates well to chainstitch embroidery, but many ideas can be adapted. If a design isn’t feasible in this medium, I’ll offer alternative suggestions—either other embroidery methods or design adjustments that will work better.
Clear communication and flexibility are essential to achieving the best possible outcome. The process begins with the client completing the custom work form thoroughly and accurately. Based on your responses, I can usually provide a quote for your project.
All work is done entirely by hand—from sketching the initial artwork to operating the chainstitch machine—so please keep in mind that this type of craftsmanship takes time. Rush orders may be accepted when possible, with an added rush fee.
Once we’ve agreed on a concept and a quote has been provided, a non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot. This deposit goes toward the total cost of the job and places your project in my calendar based on the order received.
If your project includes custom artwork, I’ll begin the design phase next and share a mock-up for your approval. Once the design is approved, I begin stitching. The remaining balance is due either before I start stitching or upon completion, depending on the scope of the work.
When your piece is finished, I’ll notify you so we can arrange an appropriate shipping method or an alternative form of delivery.
